The South African Peace Alliance, part of a global initiative calling on governments to establish Ministeries and Departments of peace, invited people to show their solidarity towards creating a new, non-violent global consciousness.

On Saturday, 14 November 2009, the South African Peace Alliance hosted a Peace Walk in Cape Town.  This walk was part of the World March for Peace and Non Violence and endorsed by respected international personalities, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the Dalai Lama, Noam Chomsky, Yoko Ono, Bryan Adams, Penelope Cruz, Philip Glass and David Suzuki to mention a few.

Nature was our wonderful host for the walk below Table Mountain in the Table Mountain Nature Reserve, Cape Town, South Africa where we walked peacefully in a non-violent manner, holding the intention that “Peace begins with me”.
